matt-and-elisha-parkerWhen Matthew and Elisha were 19 years of age, they visited an orphanage in Mexico while on a REACH Ministries mission trip. The Holy Spirit spoke to their hearts regarding adoption at that time, but did not specify when or where. After numerous trips to Mexico, Ecuador, Venezuela and Costa Rica with REACH, they felt God leading them to the Dominican Republic and Haiti.  After the earthquake which killed 300,000 people in Haiti, God filled their hearts with love, especially for the children. They returned over and over again, providing food and working to rebuild orphanages. They were especially led to “Wayoum Timon” (in Creole) or “Kingdom Kids Orphanage”. Then God spoke to them, “This is the time” and they began the process to adopt their two beautiful children. During the process, God miraculously healed Woodney who was near death with hydrocephalus.

Matthew and Elisha have become the Missions Directors of their church, Charleston Pentecostal Church, Charleston, Maine. The church and various members are supporting fourteen orphans monthly at the orphanage and besides Woodney and Kimberline, four other orphans have been adopted by families in the church. We are proud of Matthew and Elisha and what God is doing in their lives and ministry!
